• Some gas and electricity suppliers will let you fall out of contract so that you will automatically pay a lot more for your energy in the next month/quarter, knowing that you will not know until your 'bill shock'.   Then they will 'do a deal' if you renew, at this point you sign, obviously for more than your last contract.   NOTE: remember, although you are out of contract and have had a 'bill shock' you are now in control and can move or ask us to negotiate a better cost before you re-sign, even with your existing supplier.
